Congratulations on the success you’ve had due to the hard work and intentionality you’ve put in. (Not surprising, given your drive and commitment to things). Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing your journey.
Hi, Hal, & congrats. &FYI you might read up on Berberine; there are so many papers about it it's hard to figure exactly what it is and does beyond what's inherent in name - an AMP protein kinase agonist. AMPK is a master metabolic regulator with manifold cascading metabolic and immunomodulating effects. I use it as seasoning for Virgin Marys occasionally, along with Quercetin and Reservatrol in pill form and bunches of other stuff. Haven't gotten to Metformin yet-
Congratulations on taking action and making progress on all 3 fronts! Thank you for the vulnerability and for writing out what so many of us experience.
I love this story. The role of food on us as an unhealthy compensation mechanism is vastly underestimated. Modern life's continuous small stresses and the self-reinforcing nature of compensation tricks compound over a lifetime into a more powerful force than we imagine. I can relate.
Congratulations on your new, healthier and justifiably proud self!
Congratulations on the weight loss and the resulting advantages to health and relationships.
It's noticeable that aging seems to affect how people see you, too.
